Ha ha! I'm such a loser!

I just can't help doing fanart from "How To Train Your Dragon"
First Avatar, now this.

Why oh why do I always get the urge to do extra drawing based on day time work.
Either I love my job, or too much of it rots my brain.

Darn those big hairy vikings are fun to draw!!
Don't know why, but I looooooooove Spitelout (first on the left). We barely see him on the screen, barely hear him (voiced by David Tennant), but I can't help notice him everytime he's on screen.

He's like...my Zhao for that project, ha ha!

Ok, enough time wastin', got to work!

heehee, on the list of "most fun things to draw," I figure burly, hairy vikings has to be in the top five at least. (I cannot wait to see this movie... I'm probably going to go this week, yay!)

That's the dream! To find a job you love enough that you can still enjoy it no matter how much time you spend doing it :3

Hope you enjoy the movie: it doesn't try to be Pixar, just a fun adventure.
And you'll have a good dose of burly hairy vikings watching it too, ha ha!

Well...to be honest, I never get enough of your fan art! Always a pleasure to see your new drawings! :)

Btw, I like that your listening to RDI music! ;P Céline Galipeau style?

Also, back here in Montreal, La Presse a aimé How to train your dragon! http://moncinema.cyberpresse.ca/nouvelles-et-critiques/critiques/critique-cinema/11219-idragonsi-plein-la-vue.html

Ok, not really music on RDI, but I need my dose of canadian news- french speaking. Keeps "le mal du pays" in check.
Yay for La Presse liking it!

Not a loser! :D

(Because if you're a loser, so am I. I-it's possible I just got back from seeing it for the fourth time. Shhh, don't tell.)

I...I think I've seen it about as much and hoping to see it again this week with other friends (I won't tell if you won't!)

I was wondering which one was Spitelout! When I saw David Tennant's name on the credits, I got very excited and then realized I didn't even recognize him in the movie! And I'm such a huge Doctor Who fan too! Thanks for pointing out which one he is, your art is always amazing and so fun! :D

We barely see him, barely hear him. What a shame!
At least, he's in a few clear shots.
He's also Snotlout's dad, which earns him extra cool points from me, ha ha!

Just saw the movie tonight and ABSOLUTELY loved it! And I agree- every time Spitelout is around, you can't help but notice him. I wish he'd spoken more. *draws hearts on David Tennant*
But yeah. Loved the movie. So very wonderful. Makes me smile just thinking about it...

He may have had a bigger role in earlier versions of the script. Due to the rewrites though, he took a step back. But that meant his design and model originally got pushed to a nice look so when he appeared on screen he'd look good.

I am not ashamed to say I have seen this movie 3 times in as many days. Once down in your neck of the woods at the Burbank AMC because Valencia is lame as hell and doesn't have a 3D IMAX.

KEEP THE FANART COMING. I only wish I loved my job enough to want to have anything to do with it outside of work hours. :P

It's been a while since I've seen a movie repeatedly in the cinemas. Guh! My wallet! That DVD can't come out soon enough.
Don't tempt me with more fanart! Don't! Must...resist!

There are many more films coming out this year, and only 5 spots for best in the animated category. Though I wish Dragon would be a contender, if more than 5 awesome animated film come out after that beats it...I'll be sad but a satisfied movie goer at the same time.

I saw it opening day and loved it. The score is some of John Powell's best work and end flying scenes were beautiful. I'll have to keep an eye out for David's character next time I see it, what scenes is he in? HTTYD, along with Up and joining my blu-ray collection :)

Lessee...the first time we clearly see him, he's beside Stoick in the Mead Hall as he announces one more raid trying to find the dragon's nest.
He's also the one that clamps down Toothless' jaws. He's there beside Stoick on the dragon island attack.

I have the feeling that when I finally get to see that film I'll be biting my lip for the entire screening, forcing myself not to start singing out loud "Hey, hey Viki, Viki hey".
Mar. 30th, 2010 06:20 am (UTC)
It is almost impossible not to think of that song.
Thankfully, the musical score is strong enough to overpower the urge. On me anyway, I don't know about you.

Loved it!
Saw it last night. I expected that I'd like it, but didn't expect that I'd love it. Well, I loved it. It was a great movie... well worth the price of admission.

I fully expect that Shrek Forever After will make more money than it in theaters, but I can almost guarantee you that this movie deserves the money more. You and the team that worked on this deserve some thunderous applause.

Re: Loved it!
I'm pretty sure Shrek will do better, since it is an already known property. Ah well, the buzz is pretty good around it from the crew, so expect something way better than the 3rd one.
I'm still eagerlay awaiting Megamind, despite the somewhat weak first teaser. Oh Megamind, you deserve better than that!

I saw the movie yesterday. It was lovely, and I kept going "awww" may hours after it ended... So well done!
(on a side note... Romanian sites seem to think the movie was inspired by a video game... shame on them! Cressida Cowell deserves apologies)

Thank you, it's so nice to hear what people thought of the film and their reactions, pros and cons.
A video game? Ha ha, maybe they're thinking Pokemon: capture and train. XD

Chiming in to say that I loved the movie! Funny, it didn't even register on my radar until recently, and now I can't wait to see it again.

I found this journal after reading your Water Tribe comic on deviantart, BTW. Your drawings are brilliant - hope you don't mind if I add you? Also, I know you're busy with work, so I don't wanna pressure you or anything, but are you by any chance planning to post more of ch. 5 of Water Tribe? Whenever you have the time and inclination, I mean. I really do love that comic. :)

Thank you, so very ice to hear people's reaction to it :)
As for Water Tribe: I am preparing to do one last huge dump of doodles. I just need time to prep them.
