Blerg.

I have only drawn $#%@ in the past few days. Eurk. I hate this. I hope this funk passes away quickly.

THE BOOKS ARE HERE!
Had to drag over 20 boxes up to my room and managing somehow to fit them all in without blocking my way around...much.

EVERYONE THAT HAS GIVEN ART FOR THE PROJECT:
Please, write me back with your mailing address. You can either send me a pm here, use my email or send me a note via DA. However you contacted me first or sent me a note or your art.
That would help me tremendously and go so much faster. I will start sending them this weekend.
If I don't get news from you within the next two-three weeks, I will hunt you down!
In a good way.

IF YOU ARE ATTENDING SDCC in July:
Let me know and I'll give you your copy there. Saves on postage, adds to your luggage (Evil!). I will be helping over at the Flight table (#2329).

For the moment, my priority is for the artists who participated in the making of. I will not respond to anyone else's query at this moment.
I need to organise that part afterwards, decide how to do this.
Thank you very much for everyone's cooperation and patience.

(ack- even my journal entries are dry and boring. Sorry about that. I'll go rest)

I'll be spending a lot of time at the Flight table. Note down the table number, should be easy to find.

As you suggested before, I'll pick up my copy directly from you at SDCC.

Thanks for making this happen! I'm really looking forward to reading Water Tribe in my hands :D

You and your group will have a table at SDCC, right?
Definitely come and see me on opening night. We'll work out something.

Yup, well be at the Blatant Comics booth at #1328.

We'll try to rush to pick up our passes on Wed night since we're arriving in SD at 7pm. I fear, fear the queue that'll happen the next day T_T

Definitely try to pick up the passes wednesday night. But, as exhibitors, it will go faster than picking up pro badges or the other types of badges.

Ah, the accursed "bad drawing" day. I know it well. Every artist gets them and there is no greater proof of that then the fact that even someone as awesome as you should have days where everything you draw doesn't turn out to your liking. Fortunately, they do pass...eventually.

It's been a couple of days.
Oh, and the dreaded "white page" curse.
youkaislayer
Jun. 26th, 2009 10:29 pm (UTC)
Is that the one where you stare endlessly at a white page because you can't think of what to draw?

Jun. 26th, 2009 10:38 pm (UTC)
I know what I have to draw, just not how to.
Or effectively.
Or funny.

Well, while it impossible to help someone with the "bad drawing" day, your readers may be able to help you with the dialogue of the scene if they knew what you were trying to draw. Remember, however, that not every page has to be funny. It is acceptable for a page not to be funny.

Ha ha, afraid I can't ask for help, as it is day job related.
Sooper secret and all that.

how are you getting around the whole copyright trademark thing as this is using characters from avatar. And if I'm way off mark, sorry in advance.

Technically, I can't sell those.
So far, I've got a few possibilities:
gifts (the easy one)
SDCC has a blood drive. You go give blood, you get copies for free.
During SDCC: if you buy X amount of other people's books on the table, you get free copies.
If you make a donation, you get copies.
I make not a cent, not a dime, not a penny out of it. Any money exchanged will not go to me. Either charity or to help others pay for their table at conventions (which is a charity of sort, ha ha!)

Eeee!
I love the feeling of getting new books from the printer! Web comics are nice but nothing beats the feeling of holding a dead tree copy of your work in your hands before anyone else gets to see it! <3<3<3

It is a very nice dead tree feel too. You'll see.

I'll note you on DA with my home info, let me know how much shipping costs and I'll reimburse you via paypal :)

I was going to say, that is one early celeration! Morning cakes...yum!
No reimbursing via paypal. This is part of your payment for providing art.
Plus I don't have paypal. Technologically backward, I know. I still don't have a cell phone.

Yay! I'm so excited to see the book! It's gonna be fun on a bun. :D

Sorry to hear about the dreaded art funk. I'm sure it'll pass for you soon. I've been trying to get out of mine by reading my Loomis books and drawing tons of stick figures. It ain't much, but it's something.

Do I qualify for one? I'm not sure if the graphics really count as an art contribution.

I won't be there for SDCC this year unfortunately :C but maybe next year. I gave up my eternal soul to attend a Discworld convention this year but I'm sure I've got an extra soul to get me to SDCC next year maybe.
