That's a day of sucky news.

First off, Nickelodeon Magazine has been cancelled.
Starting...now.
http://www.comicsreporter.com/index.php/nickelodeon_magazine_cancelled/

Viacom decided that in this internet age, a print magazine is obsolete and decided to stop producing it.
I'm really sad for the great creative team over at Nickelodeon magazine, that put so much energy everyday in producing one of the rare kids friendly publication. Some may not have noticed, but there was some truly great comic artists working for them, doing some really entertaining material.
Sending good vibes to Dave Roman, Chris Duffy and the rest of their team.

No more new Avatar comics.
And I was going to do a Zhao comic! An official Zhao comic to see print!
Maybe I'll do it here, for the web. Full color and all. Na.

After a few phone calls and emails, it seems that both Amazon nor Wikipedia will do a thing about it.
On Amazon's side, they are not responsible for the book. They are only the outlet, not a quality inspector. Ok, I understand that.
Wikipedia let's it go, because the book is using the terms of GNU Free Documentation License, which allows, under article 2, verbatim copying, that "You may copy or distribute the Document in any medium, either commercially or noncommercially, provided that this License, the copyright notices and the license notice saying this license applies to the Document are reproduced in all copies, and that you add no other conditions whatsoever to those of this License."
There's more, but I won't copy it all. A full copy of this license can be found on the web, and does seem to fall under that "copyleft" thing.

So internet plagiarism is fine and you can make money off of it too, as long as you follow those simple rules!
Yes, you too can now make your own book by taking Wikipedia articles and printing them out! Just read the full terms of the license and voila!

I'm still returning the book because, well, this is just not serious work and extremely poor quality of editing. If you're curious to see bits of inside of the book, I have scanned 5 pages with a few choice bits of fail.

You can view them , by clicking "see all 5 customer images" right under the cover image of the book.

In other minor annoying news, my computer at work refuses to recognise my USB keys all of a sudden. How am I going to bring work home? Hopefully, a restart will help.

Ok, I need a funny pic now

How about something http://go-devil-dante.deviantart.com/ has sent me?
I asked for some of the Avatar Thirty print, and received this little extra:

Zhao

Pretty Zhao in a pretty dress, with glitter everywhere. Literally glitter everywhere! You should've seen it when I opened the enveloppe. My table will be glittery for months.

EDIT: There was another LJ cut in there that wouldn't work. Other minor annoyance of the day. Ah well. Living with it.

They (all of you) just put a lot of effort and work in these comics already, you just can't... go and say "throw all to the trash, you're all fired!" from a day to another, I guessed there were laws against these kind of postures. :/

About the book deal, damn!, the whole thing is as hilarious as sad. xD what a waste of paper and what a fake world we live.

Unfortunately, when a big company decides to stop production, not much anyone on the lower levels can do. The top bosses hold the wallets.

Ha ha yes, those Wikipedia copy paste books are so bad it is laughable.
