Like a few thousands other people.

Tonight, will go see if I can get my hands on the last Harry Potter book. Many libraries are holding parties, including the ones near work.
My roommate was downtown for a movie at the Fantasia film festival, so we decided to stay around.
I managed to escape all the spoilery going around the internet and the newspaper. If I hear someone blurt out something tonight, it won't be too too bad.

Killing time at the studio by doing more Water Tribe pages.

Potter-smotter, I'll read that when I get around to it. This has me poinging with anticipation, too!

I wonder if the Ocean Spirit will let him firebend in defense of someone of the Water Tribe. >_>

Oh Zhao, you poor fool... The door's so locked behind you, and they're not playing "seven minutes in heaven."

I'm not sure how to feel on these pages--which is good on a storytelling side for ye. :3 As much as I want Zhao to get what he wants, with the rank and identity and such (and on a short-term basis, out of that room), I think I'd rather see him blow all his chances and get that woman out safely. Oh, conflict. X3

I adore the mousy little guy in the second to last pannel. He reminds me vaguely of Jakken from Inuyasha; just a little rotten thing. I want to beat him with an ugly stick only because I don't think it would change much. XD

You can bet the door is locked- he's supposed to stay there until Yueh arrives! And then, it's payback time for broken arms.
Mousy guy (let's call him that), is the one in charge of making sure the prisonners are taken care of. Ugly little thing, but he does take pride in his work: he only delivers first rate, healthy slaves.

OH NOES, ZHAO, IT'S A TRAP.

I'm definitely looking forward to how he's gonna get them both outta there, since Lao certainly isn't planning a fancy tea party from the looks of it.

Lao only plans fancy tea parties.
But Zhao ain't exacty invited.

Come on, Zhao. Come on. Do the right thing. Even if it's tied in with being a self-interested bastard.

And maybe, just once, get a happy ending.

(Riveted in this corner. Totally riveted.)

Right or wrong is the eyes of the witness- Zhao will always go after his own self interest.
Then again, he's been "corrupted" by the water tribe a bit, so who knows.
Zhao doesn't get happy endings. Happy reprieves, but not endings.

Thanks!
I should be able to get through the book in four days. I've got enough luggage already, I'm not carrying that brick of a book along!

Ohoho great pages! Esp the 3rd panel of the second page...

I like where the story is going. Man, that ocean spirit is a big fan of planning ahead!

Thanks!
Who knows how much of that is planning, and how much is "cross your fingers and hope it works"
And who knows, maybe the Ocean Spirit didn't even have that in mind, but will take whatever good comes out of it.

I'm so very much watching and anticipating and hoping desperately for some sort of semi-happy ending. I'll take semi-happy, or at least reasonable, 'cus I really can't imagine Zhao having sunshine and flowers fairy tale happy endings, but geeze, the guy deserves a break!

I think I mentionned it somewhere else, but Zhao doesn't get "happily ever after" endings.
But he does get happy breaks. We'll see how that one goes.

Oh, THAT Plot twist. Please forgive my attempt at humor. Your story is messing me up. Zhao redeemed. Zhao badass. Zhao asshole. Now, Zhao good guy (sort of)..and you say you can't write a good story! I love your characterization of memory-loss-almost-redeemed-but-not-quite-but-you-never -know Zhao. (Long name, yeah, but I am a wee bit flabbergasted.)
Book 7! Can you believe it's been ten years!? I feel kinda old and wrinkly.

Attempt at humour accepted :)
Whoever said Zhao was one sided- no one is. Especially after a dip with the Ocean Spirit.
Ten years...belive me, that are things that make me shiver even more: the movie Labyrinth? 21 years...ouch!

Re: I greet the Evil Queen Of Evil Cliffhangers!
Book 7 is staying in his bag, until my roomate gets her copy of the book- we're each reading our own copy, but starting at the same time so one doesn't ive spoilerism to the other.
I should have fun stuff happening in the next few pages (I hope!)

oi! this is something.

Man, Harry Potter 7 has been released here hours before, but I didn't go to reserve a book months ago (I'm still out of the hype). They didn't put parties in the bookstores like there, but there we're long lines!
I just wanted to know the last installment of the HP series so my soul be silenced forever. :>

They had TWO lines at the library: one for people who har pre-ordered the book, and the other for regular customer.
It was efficient. The moment the line started moving, I went from the very back to the counter within 10 minutes.
(lots of people in costume, contests, live owls!)

We have the book, but I'm reading the fourth book in the Protector of the Small quadrology by Tamora Pierce first. I promised Terror she would get first crack at the Harry Potter book, and she'll be home from the convention, maybe 11 PM or so.

It sounds to me like both Zhaoka and the Pirate each have their own plans for the other one. This should be interesting.

Never heard of the Protector of the Small.
I bought two other books: Polar Shift (I have a weakness for global disaster stories), and Emperor, an alternate history book (another weakness of mine)

Lao has his plans, and Zhao will have to improvise one.
Who will win...

Lurking is good (I'm known to do a lot of that myself).

Heh, when Zhao shines, it's usually a pretyy dull sort of light. Let's see how he does...

Ouch for the Potter book- none of the bookstores here did that, despite Amazon offering the book at almost half price.
