Getting technical

Anyone having display problems with DeviantArt? Images won't load, whole pages will appear as just texts and take an awfully long time to connect. I've got fast internet connection, no problems with any of the other sites I visit. It's been about two weeks now and it's getting on my nerves.

Oh, and I just saw this cute little animated film. It will be on for a limited time on the web so watch it while you can.

Me too on the DA problems. I can't get more than half of the images in a gallery to load- but all other sites work perfectly fine.

Hopefully, someone will have a solution how to fix it. I'm starting to dig around the web for solution. So far, cleaning caches or the DNS didn't work. Hmmm...
Could be a firewall problem.

Apparently people with internet explorer have been having this problem, according to their help desk: but I use Safari and am having the same problem.

They've been having several problems, including problems seeing fullviews loading things etc. and have some techs working on it.

I have that problem all over the internet because of a shoddy internet connection, and for years I've had the issue of the occasional deviation not showing, so I guess I've never noticed.

That short film was adorable and creepy all at once! Thanks for sharing!!

My internet connection is good everywhere else, unless DA is starting to ask for extra super speed.

DA has been having issues for me for months if not getting over the year mark. Often gallery pages don't work or certain thumbnails aren't clickable. At that point I just give up on browsing and do something else tbh so I've got no fix for it. But yeah, you're not the only one.

I'm in the same boat you are :|

Seems to be a common problem. What was weird is that it worked pretty good until recently.

That's really kinda spooky (though funny, too).

My scanner's still not working, so I haven't made any submissions to dA in a while.

Talking about scanner, I doubt mine is still working as I've been using the one at work.

Unless the cat disconnected it (like ours did), well... lol.

I was on devart last night and I did notice it was awfully slow. I was trying to update my journal and I finally had to give up. Must be all the zwinky-is-ART/southpark-me-is-ART/omgnekkid-me-is-ART/tracings-are-ART/need I go on? crap that's being uploaded

mrrrr. yes I'm a little disgruntled

That film is darling and creepy as hell. I'd like to see the toys stage an uprising and escape the evil monster shop in the sequel XD I also love that the window is made to look like a monster face

Ha ha, DA being opened to all ages and all levels of talents, you're going to see...well, everything!
I don't know if that's what is slowing DA down. Could be their server-host. I also notice, when uploading DA, that is connects to st.deviantart.net and a few other little links.
Could just be the way their site is built up to host those millions of pictures.
The front of that store in that short film should have been warning enough right there. And the moving doll. And all those other warning signs! (stupid kid).

I've been browsing on Deviantart all week and I've had none of these problems. Just the usual irregular slowness related to their ads. Some weeks their ads give no trouble other weeks they slow my computer to a crawl, like the time they had those infernal hopping leprechauns.

I'm in Canada and I use a fairly old version of Firefox at home and a fairly old version of IE at work. Two seconds ago I went to check the first page of DA and then your own rufftoon pages and galleries and everything popped up blazingly fast, this time.

Alma was a true masterpiece, albeit a rather macabre one. I can always trust the Spaniards to do perfectly artistic things that leave me uneasy.

I've used both Firefox and IE with the same problem.
Right now, I'm using another internet connection and DA appears more or less fine (same laptop).
The problem seems to be at the level of my internet provider OR my wireless connection or firewall.
Damn.
I'm not such a good tech when it comes to try and fix those things, grrrr!

Ah, but Spain can also do really cute animated movies with no creepy overtone (The Missing Linx).

That short film was rec by Rodolphe Guenoden, one of the animators at Dreamworks, awesome, awesome 2D animator who worked on Prince of Egypt, Eldorado (Chel) and many more.

DA works fine on another internet connection- narrowing down the problem at home to my service provider or firewalls.

Why would you make me watch that film, Johane? Did you want me to NEVER SLEEP AGAIN????

Just do like me, don't keep any dolls in your home.
EVER!
(but Last Airbender toys are fine)

Of course, the Zhao toys must adore you. They probably watch over you while you sleep, taking turns to perch on your pillow, stroking your hair...

Maybe try dA helpdesk? It sounds like a really weird problem, haven't ever encountered that.

Thanks so much for the link, amazing short movie! Really enjoyed that.

I've managed to send them a note. I'm certainly not the first with that problem, so hopefully it will soon appear in their most often used FAQ.

DA has been giving me problems recently too. I thought that it was my internet since we moved the wireless router to the other side of the room. Seems that DA acting up sounds more likely.

*shakes fist* Darn DA!

I don't know if it's a mix of DA acting up or the internet service provider or the firewall. I'm currently using the same laptop at another location, with a new internet connection and DA appears fine so far.
Gah!
I'll have to figure out how to fix this (will need tech help! Augh!)
