This weekend, my roommate Phil is moving out (he bought a house! Woooo! yay, Phil! Happy for him!). The place will be so empty without him. I will miss him *sniff!*
Right now, I am in the chaos of reorganising everything around me, meaning buying a whole lot of furniture. Tonight, I'll at least have a bed, but not much else. I have a kitchen table with no chairs- hey, that table was on special, grabbed it while I could.

I wonder if I can make it to my friend's baby shower tomorrow. I will need a car ride (heh, what else is new). Guh! So much to do, a weekend isn't enough.

Anyway, once this place is set up, I will have one big guest room (unless I find a roommate), so come and visit!

Wrote this while I still have internet at the apartment. Wasn't able to switch service yet, as the previous one wasn't cancelled.

Leaving off with this, before I bore you all to death with my ramblings of furnitureless weekend.

Woot! Looks good!
Sep. 13th, 2009 05:40 am (UTC)
The colorist did a really nice job, considering my old &W art files to work from. Definitely prettified it.
Sep. 13th, 2009 06:46 am (UTC)
Well, the colorist had some pretty good incentive there, too. ^_^
Sep. 13th, 2009 02:15 am (UTC)
Oh wow, congrats on the book! That is wonderful news to see it being released soon. Boo on having no chairs though D:

I totally want to visit you. Maybe once I learn firebending I'll jet down there and hang out.
Sep. 13th, 2009 05:37 am (UTC)
I'm not sure Azula or Ozai are giving jet bending courses.
Now I have this mental image of you flying down on "Air Ozai", literally on the Firelord's back.
Sep. 13th, 2009 06:47 am (UTC)
Well, if Azula could do a rocket impression, why can't he?
Sep. 13th, 2009 03:43 pm (UTC)
He doesn't need lessons from his daughter, he already rockets along pretty well during his final fight with Aang. Granted, he had a comet boost to help.
Sep. 13th, 2009 04:35 pm (UTC)
This is very true.

Congratulations go straight to my heart- thank you!!
Sep. 13th, 2009 04:37 am (UTC)

good thing I took french! :3

Sep. 13th, 2009 05:38 am (UTC)
Warning: this book is actually 4-5 years old.
I need to make a new one with current art.
Sep. 13th, 2009 11:42 am (UTC)
hahah, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure I'll still enjoy it though :)
Sep. 13th, 2009 08:40 am (UTC)
Yey with the publication!!! And it's all pretty colored up!
Sep. 13th, 2009 03:46 pm (UTC)
Saymone Phanekam (artist in Quebec), had the ungrateful task of making my images pretty- and did awesome!
Sep. 13th, 2009 08:56 am (UTC)
Crap, I only took Spanish in high school! :P

This is FANTASTIC, though! Horus is awesome, so obviously it will be successful enough that they make a version for all us English-speaking plebeians. ;)
Sep. 13th, 2009 03:53 pm (UTC)
Spanish seemed more useful at the time?
The english version of Horus, whatever copies I have left, is B&W. It was self published so I needed to keep the costs down.
Sep. 13th, 2009 10:52 pm (UTC)
I have one that I bought from you at SDCC one yr. It's one of my fav small press books. I always wondered why you didn't make it available online. It's a great story that I know I'd pimp to my comic-loving friends if they could get it. :)
Sep. 13th, 2009 12:22 pm (UTC)
Excellent news on Horus, Johane! :)

Of course this means you're eligible for a Joe Shuster Award in 2010 and I'll definitely make sure it's on the list! :)
Sep. 13th, 2009 03:52 pm (UTC)
Oh my, but...but that's old material!
You guys should wait until I have done Horus 2!
(and the colorist should get credit too, let's not forget that).
Sep. 13th, 2009 02:26 pm (UTC)
Ooo, congrats on book thing! (Curses, it's not available from the US Amazon...)
Sep. 13th, 2009 03:48 pm (UTC)
You'd probably still be able to order from Amazon.ca. I have friends in Canada ordering from Amazon.com (US) when they can't find it in Canada.
Not that I'm twisting your arm into buying it, but think of it as an option when you're shopping online for different things.
Sep. 14th, 2009 04:46 pm (UTC)
You're teeeeeempting meeeeeeee.

I may not be able to read French, but I know someone who can...
Sep. 13th, 2009 02:35 pm (UTC)
Yay Horus!
Si c'est vieux de quelques mois, that's it. Je vois trop plein d'erreurs.
Je dois faire mieux pour le prochain, qui sera mieux pour environs 6 mois et puis apres le cycle recommence, ha ha!
Sep. 13th, 2009 05:02 pm (UTC)
Congratulations on Horus! :D Must be a great feel to have your own book in your hands, isn't it? :3
Sep. 14th, 2009 08:39 am (UTC)
Actually, I don't have copies in my hands yet. I don't know when they'll send me comp copies.
Sep. 15th, 2009 05:47 am (UTC)
Let's hope you won't have to wait too long then. :D
Sep. 13th, 2009 07:12 pm (UTC)
Congrats on being published! I really, really, REALLY want a copy but I don't speak/read French. Any chance of a future English version?
Sep. 14th, 2009 08:40 am (UTC)
It first existed in english, as a mini comic and B&W since it was slep published. I only have a few copies left.
Sep. 14th, 2009 01:34 pm (UTC)
I missed it?! WTF! I don't suppose you'd be willing to part with one or know where I could buy a copy online?
Sep. 13th, 2009 08:55 pm (UTC)
Sep. 13th, 2009 09:33 pm (UTC)
oooh! I'll come and visit! :D But you'll probably have a new roommate by then, I'm planning to come only next January... We must see eachother then though! :D

So cool that your book is on sale at Archambault! I'm thinking though... is the original version in French or in English? :P Because I want the version in the language it was created ...!

Sep. 14th, 2009 08:41 am (UTC)
I don't know if I'll have a roommate, I'll be picky finding one. In any case, you'd definitely be welcome to some couch space :)
The original version was in english- but my friend did a very good work of translating it.
Sep. 13th, 2009 11:55 pm (UTC)
Oh man, that comic looks excellent! Very cute.
Sep. 14th, 2009 08:43 am (UTC)
Is a little bit old work' I'm afraid.
I promise to do better with the next one!
Sep. 14th, 2009 01:28 am (UTC)
YAAAAAY! :D All the more reason for me to finally get off my rear and learn some French!
Sep. 14th, 2009 08:42 am (UTC)
Or use babelfish and get a really really weird english translation ;)
Sep. 14th, 2009 01:58 am (UTC)
Congrats on the book! That is great! It's times like this that make me wish I knew more French. :)

I hope you get some chairs soon. They're helpful, from what I hear. If I'm in the neighborhood sometime, I'll say hi. ^_^
Sep. 14th, 2009 08:45 am (UTC)
Got two chairs today at IKEA: One for the kitchen table and another one for the living room. I'll be getting more chairs for the kitchen table tomorrow.
Oh yeah! The book! Thanks. Sorry, my brain is all on furniture.
Sep. 14th, 2009 03:44 am (UTC)
It's all in colour! Not just the cover!
It's in French! Who translated it?
Sep. 14th, 2009 08:38 am (UTC)
Re: It's all in colour! Not just the cover!
My best friend and ten years roommate in Montreal. She's done a lot of translation work before, even if she's not a professional. The editor was very very happy with her work. I'd hire her again...if she's not too busy working on her calligraphyy projects.
Sep. 14th, 2009 03:41 pm (UTC)
Re: It's all in colour! Not just the cover!
Good! That means I won't regret the copy I just reserved when I stopped by at Archambault on my way to the office. According to their computer system they already have it in the store, but apparently it's still somewhere on their loading dock.
Sep. 14th, 2009 04:10 am (UTC)
Congratulations! ...I guess this means a visit up to the Canadian side of the family is in order. ;D
Sep. 14th, 2009 08:39 am (UTC)
Or, if you can't visit, a little phone call ;)
