Two in one.

Started feeling a bit blah tonight. Passed the option to go eat out, stayed and nibbled on a few things that were in the fridge.
I hate passing out on the possibility of going out. I have this silly fear that at some point, people will just stop asking me and I'll just turn into a recluse.
As if I wasn't one already, ha ha!

Anyway. Water Tribe things.

Not much changes here.

Still working on the idea of the prison. I'll keep having fun with it for a while, but I promised myself I'd start Horus this month so...we'll see.

Off to sleep, get some rest, get on my feet for tomorrow. Must be in an attack mood! Grah!

Great pages as always! I'm excited you're starting Horus again! :D

Thank you!
I've started building an ancient egypt reference library here. Oh man, if I add it to the one that's now at my parents' place, it's getting to be pretty big!

Horus -totally- feeds into my love for Egyptian stuff. Have fun collecting away!

I look forward to anything you do (I just became aware of your work with Water Tribe and have only even been an Avatar fan since Sept. 08, so I'm not sure what Horus is). But I do hope you continue this as well! :)

Horus is a personal project I started way back in 2005. It's a lot more cartoony than Water Tribe and touches upon my fascination with ancient Egypt.

New pages look nice, retouched ones look even better than before, and I am very curious about this Horus thing!

I may post a few Horus things, but not too much. I keep the surprise for when the book comes out! (self published)

Oh, even more exciting! I'll have to keep an eye out that, since I'm trying to boost my ShinyComics collection. :D

Ooo, I look forward to Horus things! (And, um, well, Water Tribe is addictive, too, for the viewers as well as for you. So. Y'know. Besides, you could illustrate the phone book and I'd giggle happily, y'know?)

Hey, hey! :D

Prison break time, Zhao!

Horus sounds intriguing. Got a link to that?

He's thinking about getting out...he just doesn't know how yet.
As for Horus, no link worth saying. Almost nothing on the web, really.

Great new pages! 8D

Also good to hear that you're planing to go on with Horus. You've neglected your own 'baby' for so long, haven't you? In the end you may even recover from Zhao brain rot. x3

When I finished the first Horus, I wasn't ready to jump bak on it yet. In the end, it will win out over Zhao and last many more years.

I'm pretty sure the spirits don't want him to stay there anyway.

Attack mood? That's not good. O_O;;; Are you tempted to smash some stuff?
I see you're in a productive mood today. :D

Smash some...er...lines! Drawing lines, yeah!
That isn't reflective of my productive mood. This is more my "what am I gonna do all evening, I don't feel too good, I think I'll add some grays to these pages..."

Believe me, he's been at it for a while now. There's that weak link, you see...

*drools*

More shirtless Zaho please. ^_^ Looking forward to some more Horus; it's been a while.

On another note, I don't suppose I could bribe you into some Zutara fanservice could I? I know you ship Katang, so perhaps an art trade? I'd just love the chance to see some Zutara in your style. ^_^
*Don't be offended, and I'm perfectly ok with "no".*

He just got his shirt back on and you already want it off?

I'm shipping neutral- I don't support any particular ships (but I accept those that were put forward in the serie). I prefer not to do any shipping doodles to keep that neutrality. Sorryyyyy!

... now I know why you had to keep the prison storyline going...
You needed shirtless Zhao didn't you ;-)

I admire how he look sorta "old" muscular and not "youthful" muscular.

Ha ha, I don't draw enough shirtless Zhao in the course of a year. So he gets a few pages here.
He's still very fit for a man his age, but you can forget him being more shaped and sculpt. These muscles are a good 50 years old at least now.

something tells me there's going to be a problem with the fat guy... interested to know what lao's plan was, and why would he put zhao in it? i mean, even if he's good with metal, the guy still gave him a concussion and a little brain damage

Great reworks, by the way! flows mere smoothly

Oh, you can bet a gazillion dollars that Lao had other plans for having Zhao around!

So, Fire Lord Zuko has... gulags? I'm glad to see that you're continuing this, but it distresses me a bit to think that Nazi-style camps where foreign "sub-humans" are forced to work in inhumane conditions have been replaced with Soviet-style camps where political "heretics" are forced to work in inhumane conditions.

That woman who's raving about Azula reminds me of Bellatrix Lestrange. Is that intentional?

As always, stunning work.

Feb. 2nd, 2009 09:14 pm (UTC)
Zuko is stuck with the problems of having to deal with traitors and revolutionnaries. What to do with them, where to put them?
Their working conditions are not as bad (weather is good at least) and they do get fed, not starved.
Ha ha, I didn't think of Bellatrix at all! I guess completely devoted women to their dark masters do come out that same way.

More Horus? Yay! At last!! Note that I also enjoyed the adventures of Daedalus and his son. The thing is that, for me, Horus is like the best of Uderzo and Goscinny when they were young. It's like the adventures of "Oumpah-pah le Peau-Rouge". Except that instaid of having a French knight and a brawny Amerindian there's a teenage pharaoh, a god, and Nofret.

It is high praise to be put on the same line as Asterix. I could never measure up to both of these authors (though I will forget that the last Asterix ever existed). Oumpah-pah was one of my fave books too!

That gap in Zhao's teeth makes look kinda creepy. '~'

How long has he been in jail?
rufftoon
Feb. 3rd, 2009 12:44 am (UTC)
Oh, that's not a gap- it's more the angle that may make it look like a gap (it's his lip, actually).
He's been in that jail a while now.

*spazzes* EGYPT! ANCIENT EGYPT!!!! WHUR?!?!?!?!? *flails*

PLZ TO BE GIVING TO ME!!!! I desperately wanted to be an archaeologist when I was younger and go work in Egypt. Then I realized that most archaeologists don't get badass hats and have adventures like Indiana Jones. *pouts* It's not FAAAAAAAAAIR!!!!

Oh Zhao... You is so bad and yet sooooo goood!

If it weren't for the fact I like Zuko I'd totally want Zhao to pull a Spartacus!

Feb. 3rd, 2009 06:29 am (UTC)
Yeah, archaeologist do not have extreme adventure for most of their careers. Spoke to one once, describing his work as a whole lot of pottery shards cataloguing. But hey! If you like puzzles... Anyway, he seemed to enjoy it enough. Goes with the passion.
Ha ha, Zhao couldn't pull a Spartacus. No one would follow him.

You are a machine, you crazy woman!

As epic and awesome as Zhao!Saga is (and oooooh, it IS!), I have to say my heart skipped a beat at the mention of Horus. It's one of my absolute favorite self-publish books EVAR and I've been waiting...like two yrs with hope that you would work on it again! :D I've adored Ancient Egypt since a kid, but you have a sickeningly amazing talent for comedy, expressions and storytelling so that I would love it anyway! :D

Do you sell the first Horus book anymore? I have friends I would totally pimp it to. :)
